Changed the minimum fan speed in Manual mode. I've tried turning off the updated fan curve, and that quiets the fan a bit, it still doesn't run it at zero RPM. A hair dryer or heat gun may also be used, but be careful not to overheat the Steam Deck—displays and internal batteries are both susceptible to heat damage. Great, thanks, I'll take a look ;-). I use similar shape fan-curve but 100% at 80°. Fan is always at full blast and no matter the game I play it basically shows these stats. I barely can hear any dialogue when playing DMC 5 for example (at 50% volume). Now with the beta fan curve adjustment things have been fine, at least when the actual updates stick. To disable the updated fan curve in the OS, it's in Steam/Settings/System and scroll down to the bottom of the page. Volume isn't the Deck fan's only problem: because of its size or the fan's design, when it spins up to full speed it produces a particularly whiny noise. And while I've had no such problems, I did toggle off the update fan. For some decks like my original one the steam buttons still work and you would have to force quit the game. Playing Elden Ring, the fan now runs a good 1000 rpm faster (4000+ rpm) which is where it starts whining. Would be very grateful if someone from Valve could provide drivers for Windows users so that we can adjust the fan curve.
